He has to work hard as a writer in this case, to surprise himself as a reader; but if the 'author self' is lucky, the 'reader self' will have little memory, hence the story that does not surprise him now, will surprise him then, re-reading it in the future.
To make more tasty the affair, the author self can write the story disguising his handwriting but remembering to sign it as a top shot; then hide it in a box in the attic, among the fripperies, and if attics are not available, a cellar or a closet will also be fine.
Considering that the reader self has little memory, the rest is easy to understand.

[Talvolta si scrive una storia - ovviamente secondo il proprio gusto - perché non si trova una storia da leggere secondo il proprio gusto.
Bisogna impegnarsi molto come scrittore in questo caso, per sorprendersi come lettore; ma se il “sé autore” e' fortunato, il “sé lettore” avrà scarsa memoria e allora la storia che non lo sorprende ora, lo sorprenderà poi, rileggendola in futuro.
Per rendere la faccenda più gustosa, il sé autore può scrivere la storia camuffando la propria grafia ma ricordandosi di firmarla come sommo colpo di scena, per poi nasconderla in una scatola in soffitta, in mezzo alle cianfrusaglie, e se soffitte non fossero a disposizione, una cantina o uno sgabuzzino andranno bene lo stesso.
Considerando che il Sé lettore ha poca memoria, il resto e' facile ad intuirsi.
